Site Masterplan & Landscape Design for Resene Paints new Head Office in Lower Hutt, provided the opportunity to demonstrate its principles of colour, innovation and design. With innovative use of colour, Resene updated the facade of the existing art deco industrial building. The building is on a prominent corner site and required a landscape design to further convey the company’s commitment to design. The main entrance provided the focus of the design. Strong architectural elements in the form of sculptural, vividly coloured intercepting walls emerging from a landscape of rocks and Phoenix palms linked the building with the site. Planting is minimalist and used for its ability to reinforce the architecture. Responsible for concept development, detailed design and contract supervision of all exterior landscape architectural works.
